Karate
When I was younger -about 15 years ago- I learnt Jiu Jitsu, I reached second kiu (blue belt) and was preparing my exam for first kiu (brown) being 19 years old, when I must left the city that was my home for fifteen years. In our destination, the nearest dojo to continue with my classes was 40 kilometer far away, so I simply left it.
On September past year, one of my friends begin to learn shotokan karate, and I saw he so happy that I want to give it a try also. He goes to a dojo about 1/2 hour far in car through the highway, and I do not want to loose that time and use the car, so I found another one near my house: just about five minutes walking.
I started my karate classes on tuesday, I’ve had three classes ’til today and I’m very happy. I feel better, since I didn’t do hard exercise for a long time, and I wait enthusiastically for next class. I hope to be about a 3/4 of my level of 15 years ago in a couple of months or so.
I think now that I was stupid when I left martial arts then just because there was no Jiu Jitsu’s Dojo near to my home. I should have started to do karate, or judo, or something more popular, instead of simple nothing.
So if you’re young, and in a similar situation, may be you find a valuable advice in my own experience.

hi,
i think (shotokan) karate, kickboxing and sports chanbara is the best martial arts training.
i do karate and kickboxing since 2006.
i am the ISKA european champion in the black belt class.
sports chanbara is a very cool martial arts training, because you have very much fun, but it´s hard for your stamina.
in sports chanbara you are safe because thats not real swords.
